"50 women from 25 countries, many of them in their national costumes, made their voices heard in the old colonial town of Granada, Nicaragua on November 18st . The participants of the IAWRT regional meeting arranged a march demonstrating for women´s rights, and demanding an end to violence against women.

For the first time in IAWRT history we have been able to hold a conference in Latin America, thanks to the close cooperation with the Nicaraguan feminist organization, Puntos de encuentro who co-organized the meeting.  http://www.puntos.org.ni/index.php/es

The program was a good mixture of panel discussions on violence against women, small group discussions, screening and hands on workshops giving safety training and Iphone production training.

We overcome the difficulties of language barriers, with the help of two very good female simultaneous translators and the help of bilingual participants."
